As a child, I dreamed of being able to live in the forest, living independently in perfect harmony with the surrounding fauna and flora. In my readings on the role of the forest in various tales and legends, especially in the myth of Broceliande, I developed an imaginary more or less close relationship with a somewhat forgotten and transcendent nature. In this work, which presents a landscape as a closed space, the horizon reveals a rough forest in an emerging glow while the ground has a smooth surface absorbing light and merging with the sky. I wanted to create a landscape with an atmosphere of mystery, playing on the ambiguity between dawn and dusk. The acrylic paint used in wash and glaze includes a mixture of Hooker’s Green and Cadmium Yellow as well as Mars Black and Payne Grey.
