Can we be nostalgic for a place we’ve never known? I’m not sure, every landscape I paint is ultimately the sum of the memories of every place I’ve seen without having been there and the coughs I’ve imagined. In it, a scattered and fragmented light evolves in a veiled sky that merges with earth and water. The elements seem to float in space thanks to the sinks falling into the depths. I always try in my landscapes to inscribe a particular luminosity that seems to arise from everywhere, for this I use a little more of the background of the canvas and a little less of the contribution of white, the latter being mainly used to emphasize bursts of light on specific places. Acrylic has allowed me to play with transparencies to make vibrate the colors mainly composed of Siena, Payne Grey and Turquoise.
