Gravity 9 30 x 30 x 1.6 cm

Description

Gravity 9 is visually similar to the very first existing photographs, with a light veiled by a diaphanous texture, giving the impression that the natural landscape becomes supernatural. I used a whole set of dilutions to create this ethereal atmosphere, close to Japanese prints and their misty mountains. The light was rendered by the white background of the canvas without adding material to avoid any heaviness in the invoice. Thus, the different areas of the canvas were linked together by a series of exclusively vertical brush strokes, reflecting in a kind of global blur the direct relationship existing between the sky and the earth. There appears a tension in the light that is attracted both by the gravity of the earth and by that of the celestial vault.
